Album "Grafika ASP Kraków" / Graphic Arts Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow

A bilingual, jubilee album released on the occasion of celebrating the 45th anniversary of the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, Poland features the comprehensive overview of the recent artistic activities of the Faculty. Album includes teachers' and students' artworks, texts illustrated with archival photographs, graphs showing the timelines period of employment of teachers, maps of the centre of Cracow with highlighted infographics of academy’s buildings and studios, and also annex with list of graduates of the Faculty of Graphic Arts 1951–2013.

The main goal was to refer by visual means and typography to the specific character of the Faculty.
The idea of the layout refers to the graphic art meanings: graphics - print - reflection - overpress - translation, the phase of creation/printing process, multiplication, copying, metal matrix, briefcase for prints.
The album’s layout is connection of classic and modern.
Another assumption was a transparent typography.

The book contains 5 four-paged covers folded in half, modeled on traditional cardboard briefcase for prints and contemporary appearance of laptops.
The album consists of three, main sections divided by metalic covers, which reminiscent the traditional metal printing matrixes.

Each chapter has different construction reffering to the idea of “many books in one book”. Different colours are assigned to each Department.

The album has sewn-glued binding with visible spine and is covered by belly band. Contains different kinds of paper depending on sections. Number of pages: 432 pages, 5 covers and 4 inserts. The format is: 24 cm x 28 cm.
